Sea Cucumbers are omnivores. They feed on tiny particles along the ocean floor. Their tube like feet are used to gather their prey, such as algae, minute aquatic animals and waste materials. Those particles are then broken down into even smaller particles, which become food for bacteria that is then recycled into the oceans ecosystem. Sea Cucumbers are prey for fish, other marine animals and humans. When threatened, some discharge sticky threads to trap or mislead their enemies. They can also use their own bodies as defense mechanisms by contracting their muscles and releasing some of their internal organs out of their anus. The missing body parts are quickly regenerated.
